(view list) Images of China and the Orient evoke a flurry of activities and a whirlwind of happenings: the most important thing, though, is that everything is so diverse and attractive to the senses. This is clearly reflected in Chinese and East-Asian cuisine. It is an exciting mix of fragrance and flavours, sometimes enhanced by spice and sometimes by sugar. Finding wines to match this mélange was always a challenge, but one that we have taken in our stride. De-constructing the components of each dish, and always in collaboration with the chefs, we have put together a delicious selection of wines from some of the best producers from all over world. We are thrilled to have such diverse wines as crisp Albariño from Galicia in Spain and succulent Viognier and Marsanne from the Rhône Valley in France, to more traditional aromatic styles like Gewürztraminer, Riesling and Pinot Gris. Contrary to popular belief, red wines are wonderful with Chinese food too – try a fresh Bardolino from northern Italy or even aromatic Pinot Noir from New Zealand. Wine is all about pleasure and never something that should be taken too seriously. Please enjoy yourself on your wine and food journey at The Yum Yum Tree.
